The Johnson Historical Society's Holcomb House will reopen on Friday, September 13th from 9 AM to noon. Stop by to see recent acquisitions including a hand-crafted model of the Johnson Pharmacy and the Beard Hardware Store built by David Griswold. Both buildings have extraordinary detail including a replica of Hubert Beard's Vespa parked in front of the store. There are always new additions to the collection of artifacts at the Holcomb House.
View the five prizes being offered in the Historical Society's Fall raffle. Three of the items were created by former Johnson residents: Georgia Balch, yarn art titled Camel's Hump; Laurie West McLean, a watercolor named Four Seasons; and Cocoa Time, a print by Fred Swan. A sap bucket with Butternut Mountain farm products and a Johnson Woolen Mill blanket are also included in the raffle and on display. Tickets for the raffle will be available Friday or from any Johnson Historical Society Trustee.
The Holcomb House will be open to the public on the second Friday (9 AM to Noon) and the fourth Sunday (1 to 3 PM) of each month through June or by appointment. Information call 802 635 7826.
