Come join us for a fun and educational mushroom walk! We'll hike as we learn about different types of mushrooms and their importance in our ecosystem. We will be walking for approximately 1.5 hours with an informal table talk afterwards to discuss our finds. The walk will be led by Bethany Beech, founder of the Vermont Mycological Society.
Please note that this is not a foraging walk, so we won't be focused on collecting large amounts of edibles. Please bring water and a way to carry your finds-- either some paper bags, or plastic takeout containers with some holes for airflow punched in them work quite well. A pocket knife can also be useful. Please dress for hiking, though we will be going very slowly and steadily so not to lose anyone.
Attendance is limited, so reservations are required for this free, public event. Meet in the large parking area across RT 9 from the Vermont Distillers in Marlboro, in the far right corner near the kiosk.
