T&G Special Meeting: The State of Our Schools

The following message from BRSU Superintendent Randi Lowe is for all residents in the communities served by the T&G School District: Danby, Dorset, Landgrove, Londonderry, Manchester, Mt. Tabor, Peru, Sunderland and Weston.

"Next Monday evening at 6:30 PM there will be a Taconic and Green Regional School Board meeting at the Sunderland Elementary School to discuss the state of our schools. As many of you know, the Board has been exploring the possibility of a middle school for the past two years and last winter, it became clear that it was not possible to make decisions about the middle school in isolation. A facility review was completed on the five Taconic and Green schools so the Board could have a good sense about the condition of the school buildings themselves.

"I will be presenting to the Board information from the work that has been completed to date and to discuss a number of possible directions the district could go in the future. After my presentation, the Board will discuss what was presented and following that will be an extended public comment period for members of the public to provide input to the Board.

"This is the first of what I anticipate to be multiple meetings on this topic. I know the Board wants to do what is best for the community and your input, perspective and partnership is important and valued. Please see this video for some additional comments and I hope to see you on Monday evening."
