Zoom webinar

Ticks are not friends to gardeners who are at increased risk for vector borne diseases transmitted by these pests. Dr. Somaiyeh Ghasemzadeh will provide us with a webinar on her latest research on ticks. Dr. Ghasemzadeh is originally from Iran and holds two Ph.D. degrees in Entomology, with specializations in biological control and insect-plant interactions, obtained from Iran and China, respectively. She currently works at UVM's Entomology Research Laboratory where she is researching the surveillance of deer tick populations in Vermont and their suppression using a biological control agent, specifically an entomopathogenic fungus, to reduce the risk of Lyme disease infection.
