Join the fun at Marshfield's Harvest Festival on Sunday, September 29 on the grounds of the Old Schoolhouse Common from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Free and open to the public!
There will be music, food, vendors, friends and neighbors along with a special exhibit of antique engines, farm and industrial equipment. This exciting display is brought to the event by the Vermont Gas and Steam Engine Association.
Historians from the Association will tell the stories of these vintage machines and how they helped shape agriculture during the industrial revolution.
Live demonstrations include a unique walking beam gasoline engine as well as an antique gear-driven wood splitter powered by a hit and miss Jumbo 3HP engine; a home-made cement mixer made out of various discarded farm items from back in the 1920's powered by a 3HP Galloway and the Association's own James Leffel Steam Engine driven by a throttle governed 1928 3HP Fairbanks Morse engine on moving display. Lots more to see and learn about, too!
The Marshfield Historical Society is excited to bring this extraordinary exhibit to our community's Harvest Festival. See you there on the grounds of the Old Schoolhouse Common located at 122 School Street in Marshfield! For more information, please call 802 - 454 - 1680.
