Acclaimed authors Eileen Charbonneau and Eileen O'Finlan take a dark look at what happened when two European folk beliefs arrived in America in their new novels Spectral Evidence and The Folklorist. They are scheduled to talk about their fascinating research at the Springfield Town Library in the library's Flinn Room room.

Eileen O'Finlan's The Folklorist is a dual-timeline story set in the 1970s and 1830s Vermont. It explores the New England Vampire Panic of the 19th century and its family echoes. Novelist Eileen Charbonneau's Spectral Evidence weaves a story around Mary and Philip English, both accused of witchcraft during the Salem hysteria of 1692.

Charbonneau and O'Finlan will discuss European beliefs about witches and vampires and their influence on early New England. Explore the reasons behind their enduring fascination with these topics and what it reveals about them. Don't miss out on this intriguing conversation.

This event is free and open to the public.
