Third Act Faith is delighted to host George Lakey at its September 24 General Meeting.
Described as an authentic speaker with an infectious laugh, Quaker activist George Lakey has been a leader in nonviolent direct action for six decades. In addition to numerous arrests, his life of activism includes 1500 workshops on five continents, including strategy sessions with Cesar Chavez and peacekeeping workshops with the ANC in South Africa. He has founded or co-founded several peace and justice organizations, including Earth Quaker Action Team.
The author of eight books, George will speak to us about how people of faith can address the tensions of this present moment, then engage in Q&A with attendees.
