Welcoming Disagreement and Difference
Free Introduction to Real Dialogue Workshop
At The Jaquith Public Library
Saturday, September 14th, 11:00am- 1:00 pm
Become skilled in speaking and listening effectively during conflicts, at home, work, and the world. Learn what to do when others disagree with you, challenge you, and/or you are under stress to make a decision quickly or change plans. Real Dialogue is a conflict transformation skill that, when practiced in difficult conversations, helps us to avoid polarization by lowering emotional threat, overcoming stereotypes and biases, and transforming breakdowns into breakthroughs. The skill and method of Real Dialogue heal divisions by allowing both sides to be respected -- fostering a resilient and creative social and emotional environment. We commit ourselves to developing new potentials for emotional healing and mental wellbeing in relation to human differences and disagreements.
Sponsored by the Center for Real Dialogue. Facilitated by Polly Young-Eisendrath and Amber Rickert.
