Saturday, September 28 from 9-1 PM: Final Flood Waste Disposal Opportunity for Plainfield
On Saturday, September 28 from 9-1 PM, the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources will have dumpsters available for trash generated by the summer floods at the Plainfield Park and Ride. This includes furniture, rugs, damaged building materials and river trash. We will also accept damaged appliances and scrap metal.
A resident of the property generating the trash must accompany each load to the Park and Ride to verify that it contains only flood trash.
ANR will dispose of collected trash at no cost to individuals or the Town of Plainfield.
If you need help gathering waste and/or getting it to the Park and Ride, please email me at plainfield.vt.flood.waste@gmail.com. I will be organizing volunteers to help where requested.
What we are NOT taking at this event:
No general trash that is generated day-to-day since it isn't flood debris.
No reconstruction waste (waste generated from rebuilding).
No tires. Contact me if you need help disposing of tires.
No hazardous Waste. See here: https://a-z-guide.cvswmd.org/hazard/household-hazardous-waste
