Hello Everyone, last year I joined my first-ever community choir in Bristol, led by Moira Smiley. As a novice, I felt welcomed and brought along by folks more experienced. Moira is incredibly talented (if you don't know her work, check out videos on her website). I learned a lot, got stretched (two songs were in a foreign language), and loved the whole experience. I am jumping back in for this next round in Willison.
Singer/Composer Moira Smiley will be leading her next Western Vermont Community Choir, meeting for 7 consecutive Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30pm at Red Barn Gardens in Williston, from September 11th through October 23rd.
Moira says, "Let's create a vibrant singing community by 'singing the rhizome'! We'll collectively learn, sing, and arrange songs that hold deep meaning for each of us. I envision a choir like a rhizome – interconnected and resilient, like aspens – and I can't wait to see how our musical roots intertwine. This fall is the ideal time to explore and awaken our musical rhizome through song!"
Participation fee: $115 (7 week session)
Community Choir: all welcome, learn-by-ear and/or reading. Limit of 50 people.
