Join me and the Friends of Castleton Parks and Recreation for our first local outing!

We will leave from the 'end' of the Castleton Birdseye Rd and hike to the tower near the top of Herrick Mountain. There are phenomenal views of Birdseye, Lake Bomoseen and the Adirondacks on this 3.8 mile (total) out-and-back. Bring some water and snacks.

We will move at a steady, yet slow pace. Please be aware that there is significant elevation gain over rough terrain, so very young children, or folks not comfortable with 1300' of elevation gain over the 1.9 mile climb might want to wait and join us on a future outing. However, we do not want to exclude anyone, so if you are up for it, give it a go! It is an out-and-back, so people always have a turnaround escape option.
