Join Earth Matters for the documentary "Common Ground"

Saturday, September 14, 1-3pm
Manchester Community Library, 138 Cemetery Ave, Manchester VT
Free admission.

By the directors of "Kiss the Ground", this 2023 film portrays a hopeful and uplifting movement of white, black, and indigenous farmers who are using regenerative agriculture to save our climate, our health and our economy. We will learn how the wide-spread conventional practices of using artificial fertilizers and pesticides to grow monoculture crops has led to the loss of soil carbon, erosion, and water pollution. The film offers regenerative agriculture as the alternative; the movie details how it works and why it is important, and introduces some of the farmers who are improving the nutrition of their food and restoring the health of our planet.

A Forbes' reviewer states that this film "aims to spark a cultural and political movement." The film won the Tribeca Festival and the EMA Best Documentary awards for 2023, and the 2024 Los Angeles Film Award. One review describes "Common Ground" as "sobering, practical, hopeful, and inspiring, all at the same time."

Come to be inspired by this hopeful film! Sponsored by Earth Matters
