Interested in learning more about the amphibians, reptiles, and other animals that depend on clean water in the LaPlatte River Nature Park? Or how your actions at home can help reduce flooding and impact water quality in the LaPlatte River and downstream Lake Champlain? Lewis Creek Association will be hosting a part-day workshop in the Marsett Road neighborhood and the LaPlatte River Nature Park in Shelburne on Saturday, September 7th, 1:00-3:30 PM with herpetologist Jim Andrews and LCA Program Manager Kate Kelly. We will meet at the Community Gardens overflow parking to walk the neighborhood and discuss water quality, and share information about ways to improve stormwater runoff first, then head out for a family-friendly walk in the LaPlatte River Nature Park to see and learn more about the amphibians, reptiles, and other animals that use this critically important and unique habitat.
