Chris Pratt Memorial Bird Walk
September 7, 2024, 7:30-10
Every fall thousands of migratory songbirds, including the Hermit Thrush, our state bird, make their way south to warmer winter grounds.
The Pratt Refuge in Duxbury is a birding hotspot and stopover for many of these migratory birds. Fred Pratt, a generous bird enthusiast, gave the refuge to the Vermont Land Trust along with 40 years of bird data. Every fall we gather to honor his late wife Chris and their conservation efforts.
Veteran birders with the local birding group the Mad Birders will lead small groups on a guided walk where we'll identify birds by sight and sound. More advanced birders are also welcome to attend as this is an eBird hotspot and excellent fall migration location. Refreshments to follow.
