Hike to White Rock in the Worcester Range

Past event
Sep 7, 2024, 10 AM to 5 PM

Join Standing Trees for a free guided hike to White Rock (sister peak of Mt Hunger)!

WHEN: Saturday Sept 7th at 10am (rain date Sept 8 at the same time).

The Worcester Range is Montpelier's wild backyard. How we care for these important headwaters has direct implications for communities downstream in the North Branch watershed, and for Wrightsville Reservoir, as we have witnessed over and over again with recent flooding.

On Saturday the 7th we'll take a moderately-strenuous but rewarding 4.5-mile hike to the heart of the Wild Worcester Range and some of the best views in Vermont. Along the way we'll discuss what makes the Worcester Range unique, the details of the State of Vermont's proposed management plan for the area, and how we can permanently protect this special landscape. Meet in the parking lot of the Rumney Elementary School in Middlesex at 10am and we will carpool the final distance to the trailhead. Bring food, water, and sturdy shoes.

The hike is free but RSVPs are required using the form below. Please email info@standingtrees.org with any questions.
