Everyone is welcome to borrow a copy of the monthly selection and join our book club's informal discussion, held monthly on the fourth Thursday at 1:00 pm in person at the library and over Zoom. For September, we'll read American Nations, by Colin Woodard, and Skip Hoblin has offered to lead our discussion because he likes the book so much! The book describes the history of eleven rival cultural regions of North America. " He illustrates and explains why 'American' values vary sharply from one region to another," as described at Goodreads.com at this link: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11140803-american-nations?from_search=true&from_srp=[...]k=1. This seems like a good book to help us understand regional politics as we enter election season (or voting time! Perhaps we're already in election season?). Copies of the book are now available for loan here at the library.
