Pies for People

Past event

The Center for an Agricultural Economy, Sterling College and the Hardwick Area Food Pantry will be holding our annual Pies for People effort next week to make 150 to 200 pies to brighten the holiday for our neighbors. We are seeking volunteers and eggs! If you would like to volunteer, please e-mail bethany@hardwickagriculture.org for details. Pies go to the food pantry to be part of special Thanksgiving baskets, to local nursing homes and others in need. We will make the pie crusts at Sterling's kitchen on Nov. 19 and do the baking on the following Sunday. Donations include 443 pounds of pumpkin by Diane Imrie of Two Worlds Farm in Ferrisburgh and butternut squash donated by High Mowing Seeds. Pete's Greens is making the pumpkins and squash into puree for the pies.
