This weekend, come join the Central Vermont Runners at the Northfield 5K Race & Power Walk.
The event doubles as the Vermont Senior Games Association's 5K State Championship. VSGA gold, silver, and bronze medals will go to the top three age group runners and power walkers.
The 5K Race is open to runners of younger ages (with five-year age group prizes, starting at 10), but the Power Walk is limited to ages 50+ . There's also a 1-mile kids run (with 6-8 and 9-11 age group winners).
Proceeds support running programs for Vermont kids and athletic programs for Vermont seniors. Additional donations benefit The Veterans Place in Northfield.
The 5K run/walk starts at 9:30 am in downtown Northfield, followed by the kids run at 10:45 am, and the awards ceremony at 11:30 am.
