St Thomas and Grace Episcopal Church, 19 Conant Square, Brandon invites you to worship with them this Sunday at 10 am as they begin the Season of Creation.
This Sunday is the first of five in the Season of Creation. Our liturgy will follow the usual format, but with a few differences suggested by Season of Creation: A Celebration Guide for Episcopal Parishes. Rather than sing the Gloria in excelsis at the opening of the service, we will read Canticle 12: A Song of Creation, found in our Prayer Book. The Old Testament and Gospel readings will follow the Lectionary, but there will be two pieces by author Howard Thurman at the time of the Second Reading. The Eucharistic Prayer will be similar to our Prayers A and B, with language more focused on God's creative works. Please join us for a time to intentionally remember God's abundant generosity.
Gracious God, the air sings with songs of glory,
water flashes silver with creation,
and the forests bloom with leaves for healing nations.
May your light and love fill our hearts and souls and minds,
that we may share your abundant grace with the world.
Amen
