Rokeby Museum is hosting a two-day historic shirt making workshop. Students will learn about period garment making, sewing techniques, and create a historically accurate 18th-century shirt to take home! Students will view historic textiles from the Robinson Collection, and there will be a discussion of styles and other elements that indicate specific periods, as well as how these clever construction techniques can be adapted to modern garment making. No prior experience necessary. Workshop price includes all materials.
About the Instructor: Rebecca Ranta is a Fashion & Textile Historian and Fiber Artist with a deep passion for learning and preserving traditional textile crafts. She has been creating historic garment reproductions using period accurate tools and techniques for over four years.
