The new Norwich University Class of 2028 will raise their right hand and swear to uphold the cadet and student oaths at our New Student Oath Ceremony on Sunday, August 25, at 1:30 PM on the Upper Parade Ground. The reviewing officer will be Lt Gen John J. Broadmeadow '83, USMC (Ret.), 25th President of Norwich University. The NUCC Regimental Commander C/COL Sophia M. Righthouse '25 will administer the Cadet Oath, and the Senior Resident Coordinator Eva L. Warren '25 will administer the Student Oath.
This ceremony marks the end of Rook Week and Orientation training for our incoming class and affirms their responsibilities as students and their chosen lifestyle as we commence a new year. Our new rooks and civilian students have learned a significant amount in a very short time thanks to our cadet and orientation leaders' preparation, leadership, and efforts.
The Norwich and Northfield communities and family members are welcome to attend the ceremony. However, rook family members cannot meet with their rook following the ceremony. That opportunity has to wait until Family Weekend on October 4-6. The Cadet Public Affairs Office will livestream the Oath Ceremony via Facebook on the Norwich Families page.
