It's the annual Safety Day at Bakersfield Volunteer Fire Department. Events for all ages include firefighter gear to try on, free hot dog lunch, and a variety of safety vehicles such as firetrucks, ambulances, tow trucks and more. This year the UVM Healthnet helicopter will make an appearance for everyone to get a close up look (weather and emergency call dependent). Kids of all ages can see what it's like to man a fire hose, check out equipment close up and even try a couple training drills. Free blood pressure checks, as well as a free child car seat inspection just around the corner in the Fire Station parking lot.
