Mid-September is the peak of fall bird migration in Vermont and the Wheeler Nature Park is a great place to see the wonderful diversity of birds that migrate through Vermont. Join Allan Strong of the South Burlington Land Trust on a leisurely bird walk through the park. He will talk about the basics of bird identification, the ecology of birds of the Wheeler Nature Park, and some of the conservation challenges these birds face.
We'll look for warblers, thrushes, tanagers, and other avian gems as we walk through the varied habitats of the Wheeler Nature Park. No experience necessary. We will have some binoculars available for use, but bring your own if you have them. The trails can be wet after a rain, so wear shoes that can take a little mud.
