The Grand Opening of Glover Park on Route 122 will be happening on August 25 from noon to 3 PM. Open to everyone and free. Several artists and performers will be there to help celebrate the new public space for all people. Food is available.
Starting at noon, there will be a creation of a community mural inside the pavilion led by muralist Tata Goreau. At 1 PM, there will be a presentation on kinetic forest art mobiles, and cairn building by Eric Petit. At 2 PM, there will be an interactive, jazz performance with cello, steelpan and saxophone Improvisations by Michael Close, Emily, Lanxer, and Ras Moshe, where the audience will be encouraged to create nature-based haiku poetry and the poems will be picked at random for the musicians to use as a basis for improvisation.
Also bring a bike and ride the amazing pump track built by IdeRide. Check out the joinery and the woodworking details of the timber frame pavilion and covered bridge built by Green Timber Works.
