Please join us for a free event at Richmond Community Kitchen on Wednesday August 28th at 7:30pm with Dr. Aubrey Carpenter, licensed clinical psychologist and founder and co-owner of It Takes A Village: Parenting Wellness Consulting and Psychotherapy, PLC. Dr. Carpenter has been practicing as a child and adolescent clinical psychologist for over a decade, having worked in public school settings, outpatient mental health clinics, many different hospitals, and inpatient psychiatric settings. She is especially passionate about supporting parents and caregivers as an avenue towards preventing and mitigating child mental health challenges.
This educational event is free of cost and appropriate for parents of children from preschool through high school ages. Content will be personalized to your questions and children's ages. Dr. Carpenter will provide an overview of the anticipatory anxiety that can arise at the beginning of a new school year, and discuss ways that parents can support their kids during this transition. She will speak to evidence-based strategies for preventing and managing back to school anxiety, and discuss ways that parents can partner with schools through IEPs, 504 Plans, and general communication when formal supports are not necessary. Educational resources will be available to bring home. Space is limited so please reserve your spot at the link on our events page here: www.ittakesavillagevermont.com/events
