Friends of Music at Guilford presents its 58th Labor Day Music Festival orchestra concert on Sunday, September 1, at 3:00 pm on the lawn of the Guilford Organ Barn, at Tree Frog Farm, The Kopkind Colony, 158 Kopkind Road, Guilford, Vermont. The grounds will open at 2:00 pm for picnickers, so bring your blankets, lawn chairs, food and drinks, relax and enjoy the ambiance.
Admission free / by donation.
Kenneth Olsson conducts the Guilford Chamber Orchestra on "The Measure of the Year" with music centered on "four seasons fill the measure of the year." -John Keats, The Human Seasons
Highlights will include Aaron Copland's "Appalachian Spring" and Samuel Barber's "Knoxville, Summer of 1915" plus works by Debussy and Joplin, among others.
In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to the Broad Brook Community Center; announcements will be made by mid-morning Sunday by email, on Facebook, and on the FOMAG voicemail message.
