Conflict and division are rampant here in the United States and around the globe. With that in mind, this all-day summit will bring us together to better understand the current state of peace in the world and learn how we can work together to build a more secure future.
Featuring a keynote address by The Honorable Senator Patrick Leahy as we explore the layers of peace-building, including:
The importance of subnational diplomacy
The role of women as peace-builders
How technology is changing the way we approach peace and peace-building
The current global challenges and opportunities for peace
To conclude this full-day summit, we will recognize Vermont Council on World Affairs' 15th Person of the Year during an evening cocktail reception. The honoree is a person who, in VCWA's view, embodies the qualities inherent in promoting international understanding and building ties between the US and the world.
