The Afro-Semitic Experience presents "Unity in the Community" Workshop
5pm - before their BarnArts Feast & Field performance! -
The Afro-Semitic Experience will use African, African-American, and Jewish drumming, singing, and exploration of culture as a guide to help people understand themselves and each other to break down the wall of fear and create a unified community. Folks interested in social justice, world culture, jazz, and drumming will be particularly moved by this workshop.
The Afro-Semitic Experience combines world-beat, funk, jazz, gospel, salsa, & swing with sophisticated musicianship. Their performances are reimagined jazz concerts - celebrations of community and culture that will get folks up and dancing.
The Afro-Semitic Experience's performance and workshop are funded in part by the New England States Touring program of the New England Foundation for the Arts, made possible with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts Regional Touring Program and the six New England state arts agencies.
