Join me, the Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center (BEEC), and the Vermont Sierra Club for a hike up Pisgah Mountain Hike!
This Sunday, August 11. (Originally scheduled for last Sunday, but rescheduled due to rain.)
Meet at 9:30 at the Preston Lot on Flat St in Brattleboro (across from Parking Garage) to carpool, or meet at 10 at the Kilburn Pond trailhead off Route 63 between Hinsdale & Chesterfield.
The hike to Pisgah Mountain is one of the prettiest in the region. Along the way to the summit, we will explore beaver meadows, a porcupine bonsai glade, a small remnant of old growth forest, and the shores of beautiful Kilburn Pond. This walk has it all. The view from the summit of Pisgah Mountain is worth the short steep climb to the peak.
Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center naturalist Patti Smith will be the guide, but will count on many eyes making many discoveries along the way. Participants should be prepared for gently rolling terrain, with the one aforementioned steep section. The total distance is four miles. Bring a lunch to picnic on the summit.
