Join Franklin, Grand Isle, and Lamoille County Natural Resources Conservation Districts for a free dinner and discussion on conservation efforts in Northwestern Vermont. On the local level, we will discuss and begin planning for a food forest proposed at Hard'ack. A food forest is a cultivated landscape designed to mimic natural forest ecosystems, and include a variety of edible and fruiting trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals.
We want your input on what should be included in the space, and how you would like to use it!
On a regional level, we want to hear what your natural resource and conservation priorities are, and strategize how our programming can better support our ecosystems, landscapes, livelihoods, and communities. Therefore, during the event, we will also learn about programs and funding available through the USDA - Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the NRCDs to support conservation and land-based livelihoods in Northwestern Vermont.
