We're organizing the annual Hartford, Hartland, and Sharon (HH&S) WindowDressers Community Build this fall. The plan is to assemble insulating window inserts for neighbors in Hartford, Hartland, Sharon, Windsor, West Windsor, and adjacent Upper Valley towns. This helps leaky homes to keep the winter cold out.
Try your hand at it. It's a great chance to meet like-minded people. It's fun -- and rewarding -- doing constructive work to help our neighbors.
Volunteer jobs include:
-- 3-hour work shifts making inserts (9-noon, 1-4 pm, or 6-9 pm, or a combination) . Morning and afternoon shifts include a communal lunch; evening shifts include a communal dinner.
-- Donating food and/or helping with meal prep
-- Greeting
No experience necessary. Each job is easy; we'll show you the ropes. All tools and materials are provided. Lunch will be served from 12-1 pm on days with morning/afternoon shifts. Dinner will take place from 5-6 pm on days with evening shifts. All volunteers must be vaccinated for COVID. Masking requirements will align with CDC recommendations at the time of the build.
