This week from the Craftsbury Chamber Players:
This program is an evening of music created and scaled for the salon—for an intimate gathering of ardent lovers of music, literature, art, and ideas. Such events were a mainstay of 19th-century urban cultural life and the primary performing outlet for the composers we feature tonight.
Franz Schubert's Fantasy for piano four hands starts the concert followed by his Sonatina in a minor for violin and piano. After intermission we offer Fanny Mendelssohn's Piano Trio in d minor.
The performers are violinists Mary Rowell and Katherine Winterstein, cellist Mimi Hwang, and pianists Marcantonio Barone and Inessa Zaretsky.
Thursday, August 8, at 7:30 PM at the Hardwick Town House.
There will be a pre-concert chat with the artists at 6:45.
Adults $25, students $10, children 12 and under free.
