Community Forum on Opiate Addiction:
What’s the Treatment System of Care?
Join us for continued education and dialogue for solutions to opiate addiction in Chittenden County.
November 17, 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Following the Governor’s June 16th Forum on Opiate Addiction at the State House, the Burlington District Office of the Vermont Department of Health and United Way of Chittenden County have been in partnership with multiple stakeholders to organize follow-up community conversations on Opiate Addiction and Solutions in Chittenden County. The first follow-up meeting on August 5th, was attended by over 100 people from across the community and identified several topics for further education and dialogue.
We will kick off our series with a Community Conversation focused on the Treatment System of Care, graciously sponsored by Main Street Landing. Hear a panel discussion aimed to address some of the learning goals of the general community around what our treatment system looks like and how it is responding to this problem. Panelists will include William Keithcart, Psychiatric Substance Abuse Counselor at Fletcher Allen Dayone; Dana Poverman, Director of Outpatient and Medication Assisted Treatment Programs at HowardCenter; Dr. Fred Holmes, retired pediatrician; and Kim Bushey, Program Services Director at the Department of Corrections. Ryan Mitofsky, Prevention Consultant with the Health Department will be the moderator.
Come with your questions about topics such as residential and outpatient treatment, Department of Corrections, and the role of medications in treatment.
