Adventures with a dog! Read to Daisy!
Daisy returns to the Greensboro Free Library! Come read to Daisy, a very sweet golden retriever and trained therapy dog. She will not judge you on your reading adventure and will be very happy to sit and listen.
Daisy has been a therapy dog since 2016. She is a 10 year old English Cream Golden Retriever. Daisy, and her caretaker Nancy Ciaschini, volunteer with the Suncoast Humane Society, Englewood FL and visit many of the libraries in their area, in addition to other facilities. They have a program called "doggie tales" where children read books out loud to the dogs. Because the dogs are non-judgmental, the children's reading skills are helped. And the youngsters all love being with the pups so it encourages them to read. The usual goal of the reading with Daisy is to have the child read out loud to the dog, as this improves their reading skills.
All are welcome to this free event.
