On August 8, the East Montpelier Democrats will nominate individuals to run for Justice of the Peace in East Montpelier in November.
If elected as Justice of the Peace, you will be a member of the town's Board of Civil Authority -- which works at the polls and is accountable for town-level decisions about voting and tax abatements, as well as other roles described by the Vermont Secretary of State:

It does not require previous experience and is a valuable way to start learning how the town is governed.
Please find below the notice of the town caucus for the East Montpelier Democrats. If you are interested in serving as a Justice of the Peace 2025-26 and you would like to be elected as a Democrat, we would welcome your attendance. If you are interested in being nominated or learning more, but cannot attend at the listed time, let me know about your interest and a bit about yourself at enthorsen@gmail.com.
