Pollinator Pathway Project Event - Aug. 10-11

Past event
Aug 10 to 11, 2024

Hi everybody

The Pollinator Pathway Project is a national undertaking to create pollinator-friendly habitats along a series of contiguous corridors. The project is driven by this critical fact: most native bees have a range of about 750 meters (c. 800 yards), so the goal is to connect habitats that are no farther apart than that.

The founders of PPAC (Pollinator Pathway of Addison County)(covers 8 towns!) recently gave a presentation in Jericho on how to establish new pathway projects.

The Jericho organizers have decided to try to create pathway projects in the towns included in "Chittenden East." To that end, they have devised a kick-off event (see below) that anyone interested is invited to attend.

Announcement: Open Pollinator/Habitat Garden.

Come visit a home garden landscaped with perennial plants used by pollinators, birds, and other wildlife. This ~ one acre NWF-certified habitat garden, established in 2016, is surrounded by fields and forests which further add to the incredible biodiversity found there. Highlights include: rewilding of traditional lawn, DIY water feature, "plants for birds", "leave the leaves". This garden is also a Monarch Waystation and part of Doug Tallamy's Homegrown National Park project.

If you are curious about creating pollinator/wildlife habitat in your home landscape and want to gather ideas and ask questions please join us on Saturday, August 10th (or 8/11) in Jericho, VT. Due to limited parking, we ask that you sign up for a time slot using the link below (registered attendees will be sent the address). Carpooling is encouraged to maximize visitors and minimize cars https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0D4EAFAE23A20-50482806-pollinator Email the event organizer if you have other questions: beanvet@gmail.com
