The Walden Town Democratic Committee is holding a caucus to nominate candidates for Justice of the Peace in the November 5, 2024 General Election.
The caucus will convene on Thursday of next week, August 8, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the home of Diane Cochran, 20 Cabot Road in South Walden.
As members of the town Board of Civil Authority, J.P.s help conduct elections and keep the voter registration checklist up to date, hear appeals of property tax valuations, and consider requests for abatement of property taxes.
Note that Vermont does not have a political party registration system. All Walden registered voters who have not participated in the caucus process of another political party since the previous (2022) general election are eligible to attend this meeting.
