The Craftsbury Chamber Players' season continues on Wednesday, July 31 at 7:30 PM (pre-concert discussion at 6:45) at Elley-Long Music Center in Colchester.
This concert is focused on a brief moment in 20th Century history; the span between 1922 and1927. The common thread for the evening is the influence American jazz had on each of the composers.
The evening begins with Maurice Ravel's Sonata for violin and piano followed by Erwin Schulhoff's Duo for violin and piano. After intermission comes George Gershwin's 3 Preludes for piano performed by string quartet. The concluding work is Darius Milhaud's Suite from his ballet The Creation of the World for string quartet and piano.
The performers are Katherine Winterstein and Mary Rowell, violins, Stefani Taylor, viola, Frances Rowell, cello, and Sarah Bob, piano.
