Please join us for the 79th anniversary/commemoration of the dropping of the first atomic bomb on a civilian population on August 6th 1945 in Hiroshima Japan. We will gather at the Kellogg Hubbard Library at 6:45pm ,We will begin walking meditation to the Vermont State House at 7pm after some words of introduction . At 7:15pm we will stop at Christ Church on State St. to offer prayers for peace while listening to the tolling of seventy nine church bells, before heading to the State House, where we will listen to stories of the original survivors of the blast, singing songs for peace, reading poetry, and sharing our reflections and our personal intentions for peace making in the 21st century.
