A day long fun filled event is taking place Saturday August 24, 2024.
The event will take place on Branch Road near and around the Firehouse and Community Hall.
Starting with a Drive in Classic Car Show (antique Farm machinery as well) parking on the road and lunch at the Community Hall.
We are still looking for those special one of a kind vehicles you would like to show off for a few hours. A $5 lunch voucher will be given to each driver who brings in a cool piece of equipment.
The Pinewood Derby race is typical of the classic races held by the Boy Scouts of America will race the early afternoon. We are building a regulation 3 lane track, 30 feet long and looks to be pretty fast with my test car. We have a limited number of Pinewood Derby car kits for $5 available at the Halifax town clerks office along with some modification kits available for $1 donated by the race sponsor Vermont Valley Taekwondo.
This event is open to all ages to compete. Build a couple of unique cars with the kiddo's and see who is the fastest.
A Cornhole competition will also take place later that afternoon. Register your 2 person team for $15 and enter the game.
Back by popular demand, we will have a "Chili cook-off" again this year.
Bingo * * Giant Sandbox ** Kids Decorated Box Drive-in Movie ** 40 foot blow up obstacle course ** Yard Games ** Ice Cream ** several food vendors for lunch and dinner ** Cock-a-doodle-poo" and 50/50 raffle (spaces still available at the Halifax town clerks office ) ** Hay rides **
The day will be ending with dancing in the street in front of the firehouse with the band "Foolish U" till 11pm.
