Loss is a part of our everyday lives and part of the struggle of being human. As individuals educating and mentoring children, we can all benefit from learning about the process of grieving. This workshop will explore the developmental, familial, and spiritual dimensions of the grief process in children, adolescents, & families. The different types of losses youth experience will be discussed, with a particular focus on the death of a loved one or loss of a relationship. Ways to support grieving youth and creative coping strategies for the various types of losses youth experience will be presented.
