The Vermont Philharmonic will play its annual outdoor Summer Pops Concerts by the scenic pond at Moose Meadow Lodge on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at 4:00 PM and on the grounds of the Shore Acres Inn in North Hero overlooking Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 4:00 PM.
Led by music director Lou Kosma, the orchestra will honor legendary composers as well as Vermont talent. The featured soloist is tenor Josh Collier who will perform "Besame Mucho," "O Solo Mio" and Puccini's unforgettable "Nessun dorma." Concertmaster Joanna Alpizar will delight audiences with "Si Nos Dejan" by José Alfredo Jiménez, with music arranged by Joanna's husband Mark Alpizar. Montpelier's young composer, Jamie Maddox-White will be featured as well. The Philharmonic will also perform music by Morton Gould, George Gershwin, Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Moose Meadow Lodge is at 607 Crossett Hill Road in Duxbury. The grounds will be open for picnicking at 3:00 PM. Rain location is Harwood Union High School at 458 VT-100 in Moretown/Duxbury. Bringing your own alcoholic beverages is allowed at Moose Meadow, but prohibited at Harwood Union High School.
Shore Acres Inn is at 237 Shore Acres Drive in North Hero. Alcoholic beverages will be available for sale by Shore Acres Inn. Bringing your own alcohol is prohibited. Rain Date is September 1 at 4 PM.
Parking is limited at both locations. Carpooling is highly recommended. Tickets and information are online at vermontphilharmonic.com.
