The holiday season offers us an opportunity to reconnect with members of our community at a time when many may be feeling alone and forgotten. Last year, I started a sock drive called Toasty Toes in conjunction with the Center for Civic Engagement at Norwich University. The idea behind the sock drive is to not only warm the toes – but also the hearts – of our neighbors.

Donations support seniors and those in need; last year 762 pairs of socks were distributed at Thanksgiving dinner events at the Northfield Senior Center and through Meals on Wheels as well as the Four Seasons and Mayo Healthcare. Your donation of a pair of socks – or 20 pairs – is greatly appreciated and all styles, colors, patterns and sizes are welcome.

To get involved and ‘tickle the toes’ of our neighbors, please drop off your donation at the Norwich University Wise Campus Center in Room 230 any day of the week through Friday, November 21st.
