If you've stopped by the Lincoln Town Office this summer, you know that Lincoln's first community pollinator garden--planted last spring--is thriving. Join our multi-species garden party this Saturday, July 27, to celebrate the garden, learn about pollinators, and take part in fun hands-on pollinator-boosting activities for all ages. Delish locally sourced refreshments will be served.
WHEN: Saturday, July 27, 10am -12pm
WHERE: Lincoln Town Office pollinator garden
WHAT: First annual Pollinator Party & Plant Sale
WHY: To have fun, learn about Lincoln's first community native plant garden, and learn how to be good neighbors to pollinators.
WHO: Presented by the Lincoln Conservation Commission; featuring pollinator dynamo Julia Parker-Dickerson; for any and everyone.
DETAILS:
10am: The party kicks off with refreshments and pollinator garden rambles.
10:15: Master Gardener/dynamic teacher/pollinator activist Julia Parker-Dickerson (https://jgardensvt.blogspot.com/) will share her extensive knowledge of pollinators and how to effectively create habitat for them. Bring a blanket or chair to sit on if you can. Some chairs will be provided.
For a taste of Julie's enthusiasm and knowledge of all things gardening, check out her recent interview in UVM Extension's "Across the Fence" program, https://youtu.be/ujFNz0QwWhI?si=SbEeWZZT6JftTe_R .
10:45: Roll up your sleeves and make pollinator seed balls for your home garden. Kids of all ages can also make paper butterflies and chalk drawings of our pollinator friends on the parking lot in front of the garden. Please bring coloured chalk if you have it, to add to what we'll have on hand.
PLANT SALE: We'll be selling native pollinator plants, with proceeds going toward future Lincoln Conservation Commission educational events and activities.
