Presented by London curator Carrie Scott

This talk is for art enthusiasts and collectors starting their journey. Carrie Scott, a curator with expertise in contemporary art, will provide insights and advice on identifying personal tastes and navigating the art market. With over two decades of experience, Scott is well-equipped to guide those looking to start their art collection.

"Art collecting is not just about acquiring pieces; it's about building a narrative and creating a legacy," says Carrie Scott. "This talk aims to demystify the process and empower attendees to start their own collections with passion and knowledge."

Carrie Scott is a London-based American/English art consultant, curator, art historian, writer, and TV host who has worked with major galleries, collectors, and artists around the world for over 16 years. In 2009, she launched Carrie Scott & Partners, an art consultancy, gallery, and curatorial endeavor that exists beyond traditional gallery walls to provide more direct support to artists and collectors. Scott has also authored numerous articles and essays on artists and interviewed them as a presenter on The Art Show. Last summer, Scott presented Harold Feinstein's work to an enthusiastic audience at The Current and is excited to return to Stowe this summer.

About Currently Speaking:

The Currently Speaking series hosts experts in various contemporary art genres and media to encourage casual discourse and meaningful interactions between our community, speakers, and the art they showcase. Artists in this exhibition use the metaphor of a garden to address climate change, decolonization, feminism, societal tensions, and our endangered environment by presenting work on the topic.

Our free public programs and admission-free exhibitions are all brought to you through the generous support of our sponsors, grantors, donors, and members.

Sponsored by The Quinlan Group at Coldwell Banker Hickok & Boardman.
