U-32's Award winning Theater program, Stage 32, is proud to present "Once On This Island" November 14 and 15 at 7PM and November 16 at 2PM. This highly original musical, by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, is a Caribbean adaptation of the popular fairy tale "The Little Mermaid" and tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl, who rescues and falls in love with a wealthy boy from the other side of the island, Daniel. Unbeknownst to Ti Moune, the pompous gods who preside over the island make a bet with one another over which is stronger, love or death. Told with colorful costumes, energetic dance and lively music, this musical is great for the whole family. Tickets $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for students and seniors. Please call Sue Verchereau at 229-0321 ext. 5561 for ticket reservations. Directed by Erin Galligan-Baldwin with Music direction by Roger Grow, Choreography by Heather Clark-Warner, costumes by Amy Papineau, Prop Design by Adrian Wade and Set Design and Construction by Jason Galligan-Baldwin. Produced by special arrangement with Musical Theater international. There are over fifty U-32 students on stage and behind the scenes - don't miss your chance to see this wonderful show!
