We're back! - still catching our breath from this year's 4th of July celebration, but people have been asking, so here's the info:

WHAT: Bottle and can drive
WHEN: Saturday, Aug. 17th, 7:30 – 1:00
WHERE: Worcester Historical Society driveway!! NOTE THIS CHANGE!!
WHY: Fund-raiser for next year's 4th of July celebration
HOW: Bring redeemable bottles and cans.
NOTE: Please SEPARATE GLASS BOTTLES from cans and plastic bottles. It helps us a lot if you've already done this!

AND WE NEED HELPERS! Please let us know if you can give us an hour of your time on 8/17, to help receive redeemables, and to do any sorting that's needed.

Likewise, if you could help transport the trailer from, and back to Morrisville Beverage one of our Saturdays, that would be wonderful! Let us know.

P.S. Here's some extra information, in case you're wondering:
We're hoping to continue running bottle drives on a regular basis - about once every six weeks is what we're thinking. They are an excellent fund-raiser, as well as a "public service" to folks who are happy to avoid the hassle of returning their own redeemables, and to keep all those bottles and cans out of the waste stream.

At this point we're calling this a fund-raiser for the Fourth of July celebration. We're working on figuring out about the question of fireworks next year - we'll share more about that soon. For now, it seems right to continue this worthwhile fund raising effort, so that people can plan on a place to bring their redeemables on a regular basis year-round.

And FYI, there has been a CHANGE OF LOCATION. We will set up the MoBev trailer IN THE WHS DRIVEWAY. (The folks at the transfer station have decided it causes too much congestion there.) We're hoping this will still be pretty easy for people - one more quick stop, on your way to/from dropping off your trash.

BTW, MoBev in Morrisville has an account for us. So if you want to drop off your own redeemables with them, you can just tell them you'd like to donate your credit to Worcester's 4th of July account.
