The Craftsbury Chamber Players open their third concert of this summer with three pieces focusing on the strings. The first with Paul Wiancko's duo American Haikiu is a piece that is at once, a reflection of the composer's Japanese American identity as well as an ode to the evocative concision of haiku. The second piece is the String Trio #4 in D by Beethoven, and the third piece is a work by Henri Vieuxtemps, Elegie in f minor for viola and piano. The evening concludes with a Piano Quartet in a minor by Swedish composer Elfrida Andree (1841-1929), a direct descendent of the romantic musical styles of Mendelssohn and Schumann.
The concert will take place on Wednesday July24th at 7:30pm with a pre-concert chat at 6:45pm at the Elley- Long Music Center in Colchester.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for students and free for children under 12. FREE Concert Tickets are available at every public library in Chittenden County. For information, please visit http://ccpvt.org of phone 802-586-0616
