Zoe Christiansen and Abigale Reisman will be putting on a very special duo concert at the Old West Church in Calais, on next Friday, July 26th, 7:30 to 8:30 PM.
As a duo, they will play the music of old Eastern Eastern Europe and Turkey acoustically, on violin, clarinets, and accordion.
(Cash donations will support Zoe's mentors of music overseas.)
Abigale and I attended the New England Conservatory together, and have been friends for years. I (a local) am thrilled to play with Abigale again, and to have the opportunity to present her (Boston) and her enormous talent to Central Vermont.
Besides her training in classical music at the Manhattan School of Music, Abigale is one of the best, if not the best, klezmer violinists of her generation.
I've spent the last decade after music school studying with masters of music from Greece and Turkey- and have the opportunity have lessons in person this summer. Any cash donations from this concert will go towards paying my teachers for more music lessons!
