Take a Walk on Falls Road with AARP

Past event

Since last week, we've all been trying the demonstration traffic calming project on Falls Road. It was a great volunteer, business and staff effort, with thanks to our friends at AARP Livable Communities funding. The Livable Communities initiative supports local efforts to make communities more livable and age-friendly.

AARP Vermont will be here in Shelburne on Monday July 22 to help with a Walking Audit of the new work on Falls Road, starting at 1 PM. We will gather near the Veterans Memorial at the corner of Church St. and Falls Road, on the parade ground. We want to assure that walking and biking is safe, accessible and convenient for people who cannot or choose not to drive. To that end, it is critical that we become more pedestrian and bike friendly.

AARP has been doing this work for many years and we look forward to learning from their experts and hearing from residents.

Please join us on Monday! A walk together after lunch makes a nice break.

Our project team hears your feedback, and we're prepared to make adjustments as needed. An online survey for broader evaluation is coming soon.

Thank you again for your support for a welcoming, healthy, and vibrant Shelburne!
